Spring Has Sprung
So I decided to publish my new blog to celebrate
It was with great joy that I saw the sun coming up into a clear blue sky this morning.
So happy was I in fact that I decided to publish my new blog here at treb0r.net. I think it’s around twenty years since I did any blogging so it feels like a new beginning. This winter has dragged on so long and the Pennine weather has been particularly dreary. I promised myself that I would go back to walking and blogging as soon as the spring arrived, and now it has.
I am planning to publish some of my favourite walks on here, mostly centered around Sowerby Bridge which is where I live these days. Sowerby Bridge is regarded as the ugly sister to Hebden Bridge but I have come to love it dearly. It will be five years in June since we came here and I have spent that time exploring the surrounding countryside, which is full of beautiful walks and hidden places.
The thing that has surprised me most about living here is how different it is to Mytholmroyd which is where we lived previously (or just outside). Mytholmroyd is well within the Hebden Bridge bubble, and although we are only three miles as the crow flies from our old house, it feels like a different universe entirely.
The image above is taken from the end of our drive. If you look carefully you might be able to spot the sun shining on the Stott Hall farmhouse in the middle of the M62 motorway. I pass the farm on one of my favourite walks that takes me over into the next valley to where my brother lives in Marsden. I will be writing about the walk soon.
That view is one of my favourites and I make no apologies for the fact that I photograph it so often. It’s amazing to see the scene change with the seasons. The woods in the valley are a real thing of beauty. If you read this blog then I can assure you that you will be seeing the same view a lot.
Anyway, thanks for dropping by, and please come back soon. There are lots of walks and other treats to come.
